Blue Lampwork Glass and Ice Quartz Fibula
Silver plated wire has been formed into a fibula (Ancient Roman brooch) with added wiggles and swirl, onto which I've added some Ice Quartz chips, a couple of dark blue glass beads and a large, round, flat focal bead in mostly blue but with some pink handmade in lampwork glass. From the swirl there is a dangle with a Swarovski crystal star for added sparkle.
Leopardspot Brown and Gold Fibula
Ooh, look - a new design!!! This brooch is based on the fibulae worn by ancient Romans to hold their cloaks together and is the basis for our safety pins. Designed to be worn on the right hand side with the swirls at the bottom and the catch uppermost, this fibula is made from gold-plated wire and has 3 disc beads made of handpainted Filipino wood together with 4 bronze Czech crystal faceted beads. Put it on knitwear, scarves or hats, you'll be making a statement!
Length is 3¼ inches/8cms.
Pink & Blue Heart Dichroic Glass Brooch
I apologise for the poor quality of the picture but if you can make it out, the base layer is opaque black. Into this I've fused two heart shapes in dichroic glass, one pink and the other purple/blue. I've then fused a clear glass layer over the lot.
Brooch length is 1½ inches/4cms.
